And all [mankind] will appear before God [on the Day of Judgment]; and then the weak will say unto those who had gloried in their arrogance: "Behold, We were but your followers: can you, then, relieve us of something of God's chastisement?" [And the others] will answer: "If God would but show us the way [to salvation], we would indeed guide you [towards it]. It is [now] all one, as far as we are concerned, whether we grieve impatiently or endure [our lot] with patience: there is no escape for us!"
They all come forth unto their Lord. Then those who were despised say unto those who were scornful: We were unto you a following, can ye then avert from us aught of Allah's doom? They say: Had Allah guided us, we should have guided you. Whether we rage or patiently endure is (now) all one for us; we have no place of refuge
They will all be marshalled before Allah together: then will the weak say to those who were arrogant, "For us, we but followed you; can ye then avail us to all against the wrath of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape."
And they shall all come forth before Allah, then the weak shall say to those who were proud: Surely we were your followers, can you therefore avert from us any part of the chastisement of Allah? They would say: If Allah had guided us, we too would have guided you; it is the same to us whether we are impatient (now) or patient, there is no place for us to fly to
They shall all appear before God and the weak will say to those who behaved proudly, We were your followers. Can you protect us from God's punishment? They will reply, Had God given us guidance, we would have guided you. It is all the same whether we are patient or impatient; there is no escape for us
And they will depart to God altogether. Then, the weak would say to those who grew arrogant: Truly, we had been followers of yours. Have you ones who avail us at all against the punishment of God? They would say: If God would have guided us, we would have guided you. It is equal to us whether we were patientless or endured patiently. There is no asylum for us.
They will all march forth to [meet] God, and the weaklings will tell those who acted so proudly: "We formed a following for you; can you help us out now in any way against God´s torment?" They will say: "If God had guided us, then we´d have guided you. It´s all the same for us whether we panic or act patient; we´ll have no escape."
They will all appear before Allah, and the lowly ˹followers˺ will appeal to the arrogant ˹leaders˺, “We were your ˹dedicated˺ followers, so will you ˹then˺ protect us from Allah’s torment in any way?” They will reply, “Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. ˹Now˺ it is all the same for us whether we suffer patiently or impatiently, there is no escape for us.”
All [people] will appear before God [on the Day of Judgment]; the weak will say to those who had gloried in their arrogance, "We were your followers. Can you protect us from any of God's punishment? " They will say "If God had guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference now whether we rage or endure with patience: there is no escape for us."
And when they all will appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection), then the weak (of the world) will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): “Surely, we were following you. Can you avail us anything from Allah’s punishment?” They will say: “If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is equal on us (now) whether we rage, or bear (those punishments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us.”
They will appear before God all together, and the weak will say to those who waxed arrogant, “Truly we were your followers; so can you avail us in any way against the Punishment of God?” They will say, “Had God guided us, we would have guided you. It is the same for us whether we are anxious or patient; for us there is no refuge.
And they appeared before God, all of them. And the weak ones said to those who were arrogant: "We were following you, so will you avail us anything from God's retribution" They said: "If God had guided us, then we would have guided you. It makes no difference if we cry out or are patient, for we have no refuge."
When they all appear before Him, the weak will say to the powerseekers, ‘We were your followers. Can you protect us from any of God’s punishment?’ They will reply, ‘If God had guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference now whether we rage or endure with patience: there is no escape.&rsquo
And they all shall appear before Allah, then those who were counted weak shall say to those who were stiff-necked: verily we were unto you a following, are ye going to avail us at all against the torment of AllAh? They Will say: had Allah guided, We would have guided you also; it is equal unto us whether we become impatient or bear patiently; for us there is no place of escape
When they will all appear before God together, the weak will say to those who were arrogant: "We were your followers, so can you now save us a little from God's punishment?" They will say: "If we had been guided by God we would surely have shown you the way. To lament or endure is all the same to us now. No getting away is there for us."
They will all parade before Allah and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, ´We followed you, so can you help us at all against the punishment of Allah?´ They will say, ´If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference whether we cannot stand it or bear it patiently. We have no way of escape.´
They will appear before God all together. Then those who were weak (in the world and followed the arrogant oppressors in their misguidance) will say to those who were arrogant and oppressed others: "We used to follow your lead: can you now avert from us anything of God’s punishment?" The others will answer: "If God had guided us (to the way to be saved), we would indeed have guided you to it. It is all the same for us now whether we are anguished (about it) or endure with patience; there is no escape for us!"
Together they will be presented before Allah. Then those who were weak will say to those who were arrogant, ‘Indeed we were your followers. So will you avail us against Allah’s punishment in any wise?’ They will say, ‘Had Allah guided us, surely we would have guided you. It is the same to us whether we are restless or patient: there is no escape for us.&rsquo
They will all come forth unto their Lord; and the despised (or weak) say to those who were scornful (or inflated with pride), "We were but followers of your s, can you now avail us aught against Allah´s torment?" They say, "If Allah
And they go forth to Allah altogether. Then say the weak to the ones who waxed proud, "Surely we were to you a following; will you then avail us against the torment of Allah anything?" They say, "If Allah had guided us, indeed we would have guided you. Equal it is for us whether we (endure) impatiently, or whether we endure patiently; in no way can we have any evasion."
(On the Day of Judgment) everyone will appear before God and those who have been suppressed will say to their oppressors, "We were your followers, can you do anything to rescue us from the torment of God?" They will reply, "Had God guided us, we would also have guided you. It makes no difference whether we cry for help or exercise patience; there is no escape for us."
All of them shall appear before Allah. Then, the weak shall say to the arrogant, .We were your followers. So, can you relieve us a little from Allah‘s punishment?. They will say, .Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we deplore or endure, we have no way out
All mankind will appear before Allah. Then the ones who had disabled their minds with blind following will say to their 'self-glorified' leaders, "We used to follow you. Can you divert some of the requital from us?" The leaders will respond, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. Ah, it is too late! Now it makes no difference whether we panic in grief or try to bear it in patience, there is no escape for us." (It is noteworthy here that Satan had brought the same argument that his Lord sent him astray (7:16))
They all will be gathered before Allah together: Then the weak say to those who were proud, "For us, we only followed you; then, can you be of any use to us against the Punishment of Allah?" They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: It makes no difference to us (now) whether we are angry, or bear (the pain) with patience: For ourselves there is no way of escape."
And they will come out [for judgement] before Allah all together, and the weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Indeed, we were your followers, so can you avail us anything against the punishment of Allah ?" They will say, "If Allah had guided us, we would have guided you. It is all the same for us whether we show intolerance or are patient: there is for us no place of escape."
When all people appear before Allah, those who were weak in the world will say to those who thought themselves mighty: "We were your followers. Now! Can you do anything to relieve us from the punishment of Allah?" They will reply: "Had Allah given us guidance, we would have guided you. Now it makes no difference whether we panic or bear it with patience, for there is no escape for us."
Dr. Munir Munshey
When all of them together appear before Allah, the weak among them shall say to those who had been considered great, "We used to follow you! So, now can you offer any protection against Allah´s wrath at all." They shall reply, "Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It is the same for us now, whether we worry or stay calm. There is no escape for us, now."
Dr. Kamal Omar
And they approached and set before Allah altogether. Then the weak ones said to those who become arrogant: “Verily, we were followers to you, so are you those who can rid us of the punishment of Allah to any extent?” They said: “Had Allah guided us we would have surely guided you. It is equal on us whether we complained and begged or we bore in patience. There is not for us out of a place of refuge or escape.
They will emerge before God, altogether. The weak will say to those who were proud, 'We were your followers, can you protect us at all against God's punishment?' They will say, 'Had God guided us, we would have guided you. It is the same for us; whether we mourn, or are patient; there is no asylum for us.'
Then all of them will appear exposed before Allah, and the weak ones will say to the haughty ones: "We merely followed you. Will you, then, protect us from Allah´s chastisement?" They will say: "Had Allah shown us the Way to our salvation, we would surely have also guided you. Now it is all the same whether we cry or suffer patiently, we have no escape."
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad
And all (people) appear before God, then the weak ones say to those who were arrogant: we were your followers, so can you be of any use to us against God’s punishment at all? They say: if God had guided us, we would have certainly guided you, it is the same for us whether we are anxious or we are patient, for there is no way of escape for us
They will all be brought before God together. Then the weak will say to those who were arrogant, “We followed you, can you then avail us against the punishment of God?” They will reply, “If we had received the guidance of God, we would have given it to you. For us it makes no difference whether we rage, or bear it with patience, for us there is no way to escape.
They will all appear before Allah on Judgement Day, and the oppressed will say to their arrogant leaders, “We followed you, so will you rescue us from Allah’s punishment?” They will say, “If Allah had guided us, then we would have guided you. It’s all the same to us now whether we are anxious or patient; there’s no escape for us.”
Andthey appeared before God, all of them. And the weak ones said to those who were arrogant: "We were following you, so will you avail us anything from the retribution of God?" They said: "If God had guided us, then we would have guided you. It makes no difference if we cry out or are patient, for we have no refuge.
And they shall all present themselves before Allah. Then the weak shall say to those who were proud, "We had indeed been your followers. Would you then withstand anything of Allah's punishment from us?" They would say, "If Allah had guided us, we too would have guided you. It is immaterial to us now whether we bewail or be patient. There is no place for us to escape to."

When the disbelievers stand before God, they will ask their leaders: “We used to follow you. Can you help us now to receive a little bit lighter sentence from God?” Their leader will say: “If we had deserved the Lord’s guidance in our worldly life, we would have guided you (so that you receive a lighter sentence, or none, today.) Now it is too late. Whether we face our destiny with patience or grief, there is no escape for us
